With the menswear Spring-Summer 2017 shows officially done across the Atlantic, it's time to start figuring out what, exactly, to make of it all. While some people find terrors among the ruins, others find more palatable takeaways. Pockets, for instance. Sure, pockets are aren't revolutionary. According to GQ Magazine, at Givenchy, they were blown-up and prominently positioned on sturdy, straightforward outerwear, some with flaps in contrasting colors. And Lemaire showed field jackets with oversized cargo-style pockets. It's a smart move, since pockets are both useful and add a little something noteworthy to an otherwise classic piece--like a lightweight summer jacket. It's also a heck of a lot easier than carrying a big ol' tote bag on a 97-degree day. Just saying.
